There are moments when I look around and remember that gratitude doesn’t require everything to be good.

Life can be heavy.
I can be tired.
I can still have questions I don’t have answers to.

But still…
I’m here. Still creating, somewhere between surviving and becoming.

Perhaps the grace to do so, even when life feels uncertain, is gratitude defined. ❤️

We celebrated this doll on Saturday... 🎳

I remember getting the call 16 years ago that "they have to take her"...if not we could possibly lose them both. Complications resulted in her needing to arrive waaaay before she was ready, forcing baby and momma to remain in ICU for weeks.

Yet through a misdiagnosis and with the cradle of His arms, this fireball of energy arrived, survived and bloomed into a beautiful young lady.

@westkaren218 thank you for making me an auntie. You and her fought like hell to be here...praise God you did. ❤️

I cannot believe how fast time passed. This little guy made me a mommy first. We grew up together, learned together, and journied life together...every step of the way.

@mauriceevolving I am SO proud of you. Please continue to carve your own path. Use your best judgement. Surround yourself with people who add substance and value. Remember to always be kind.

Some waves come to carry us.
Some come to change us.
And some knock us down so hard, we forget what it feels like to stand.

Life has a way of doing that.

Grief comes in waves.
So does healing.
So does joy...if even for a day.

And somewhere between the tides, there is the blessing of a hand reaching for yours. A shoulder when the weight gets heavy. A sister beside you when the waters get rough.

Not to calm the sea.
Not to take away the hurt.
Just to remind you that you don't have to weather it alone...

through every season.
Every loss.
Every becoming.

May we always have women beside us who will laugh with us in the sunshine, sit with us in the storm, and reach for our hand when the waves of life become a little too much to carry alone...

and little eyes watching, learning what it means to love, to hold, and to show up for one another.

The waves will come.

Funny how the places we're most afraid to step into often become the places that remind us who we are.

I arrived later than imagined; never set out to become a spoken word artist.

But maybe timing was never the point.

Maybe the point was simply finding a room that asked me to trust my own voice.

Third time at bat...and I think I really love it here. 🎤📝❤️

Stepped outside briefly for the Fragrance Happy Hour Perfume Bar Experience hosted by @cairoandbliss. Although I was in work mode, I did take a moment to indulge in the aromas and sip a beautiful bloom. 💐

We spend so much of life measuring ourselves against clocks.

By this age... By that milestone... By someone else's timeline.

Yet purpose has never cared about our calendars.
Some dreams require more living before they can be carried with honesty.

Not because we lacked talent. But because we hadn't yet become the person the dream was preparing us to be. Because there are things I couldn't have written ten years ago. There are words I hadn't yet lived. There was a woman I had not yet become.

Perhaps the dream didn't arrive behind schedule. Perhaps it arrived precisely when my roots were deep enough to carry its weight.

I'll choose purpose over pace every time.

Some things bloom early. Others bloom deeply.

I can't say I recall ma being pregnant. But oddly, I remember when he arrived home. This little baby...my brother. And I distinctively remember thinking to myself, "I have to take care of him."

I'd like to think that I've done that thus far...been my brother's keeper. I recall the panic that would set in when I'd board the school bus in the afternoon (as an elementary school kid) and not immediately see my baby brother. Then I'd finally see his tiny self sitting carelessly in his seat.

I cherish every moment, memory, loss, and heartbreak with you @jayprezz. Next to dad, you are the second guy I've ever loved with my whole being. I would never, ever want to do life with any other brother.

Happy Birthday Hovito! 🎂 I wish this next journey around the sun is filled with new adventures, bigger aspirations, and an abundance of dreams exploding into fruition.

Some people mistake softness for fragility.

They never realize how much strength it takes to remain gentle in a world that keeps asking you to harden.

Softness isn't weakness.
Sometimes it's survival.

I did a thing. Tried something new. Took a chance...

I recently, unexpectedly....completely spare of the moment, participated in my first open mic!

I've never been afraid of public speaking, BUT have always shied away from intentionally putting all eyes one me. 🫣 However, this experience was exhilarating and inspiring. It offered confirmation that my desires can be fulfilled and my dreams beyond the pages are obtainable.

We measured our lives in softer things today...

Sunrays collecting on shoulders. Laughter and splashes cooling the summer heat. The kind of afternoon that asks nothing of you but your presence.

We shared desires still waiting for a proper introduction. Of how we crave substance now, fewer crowded rooms, more meaningful tables.

No deadlines chased us. No guilt sat beside us, tapping its impatient fingers.

For once, I did not barter my worth for productivity.
I let the afternoon unfold without asking it to become anything more.

And in the stillness, I remembered:
I am allowed to exist without constantly proving that I deserve the space I take up.

As the sun relentlessly kissed my skin I realized that
Sometimes healing isn't found in doing more. Sometimes it's sunlight on your shoulders, the echo of an old friend's laughter, and the quiet realization that being here is enough.

Perhaps this, too, is what blooming looks like. ☀️💐

You are not buried.
You are planted.

Often times it's easier said than done.
To press forward inspite of.
Doubting whether its worth it...
if you're worth it.

Yes, waiting with no sense of time fuels
the questions,
the confusion,
wavering prayers.

But the unknown doesn't mean it's not yours.
It doesn't negate how far you've come,
what you've accomplished;
or the greatness that will derive from what you've achieved.

The only thing you can do is to just keep going.
Believing wholeheartedly,
with faith the size of a mustard seed.

It hasn't happened yet,
but...
it's coming.

A little late, yet the celebration is still loud! 🎓🎉 Still riding the graduation high over here.

Maurice crossed the stage, turned a page, and reminded me just how quickly time moves. My baby graduated, and somehow I survived without ugly crying...so proud of myself! 😂

Watching him walk across that stage was one of those moments that made me pause and think, "Wow, we really made it here."

One minute he's learning sight words, practicing handwriting, and giving a moment-by-moment account of his day. The next, he's stepping into adulthood, chasing dreams, achieving goals, and creating a life of his own.

Reese, I am so proud of the young man you're becoming and excited to see where life takes you next. The future holds infinite possibilities. As you continue this journey, remember to always lead...never follow. Stand firm in the decisions you make for yourself.

Congratulations, Son. The world is waiting for you.

Yesterday we celebrated the birth of my baby boy with buddies and bowling. 🎳💙 I cannot believe how fast time is fleeting. He once promised he'd stay 3 forever, and yet here we are...age 12! 🥺😭

There is something incredibly beautiful about women who choose kindness without obligation.

Women who celebrate you even when they don’t have to.
Women who quietly support your dreams from afar.
Women who remember your children, check on your heart, and show love in ways that ask for nothing in return.

I’ve known of this beautiful soul for nearly 20 years, and though life never brought us into the same room physically, her spirit has always carried warmth, grace, and genuine love.

She purchased my book simply because she wanted to support me. And honestly? That means more than people realize.

In a world where envy is loud, women like this remind me that softness still exists. Genuine support still exists. Real sisterhood still exists.

My baby boy completed his Commercial Photography program from the ACE Center at Hermitage today. He was awarded Outstanding Student in his program and obtained a certficiation. Just smiles and happiness today, momma did good! 🤗

BUT check on me next week as he walks across the stage for his official high school graduation. Trust me...I will NOT be ok!! 🎓🥺

Prayerfully, this is only the beginning…

I’m so used to being behind the camera,
encouraging women to see themselves differently,
to feel a new energy,
to learn to love their own gaze.

And yet, we must practice what we preach.

My greatest hope is that Flower Bomb becomes
the center of conversations,
finds rooms I once only dreamed of,
and creates a wave of love, self-acceptance,
and the kind of release that is innately ours.

Here’s to making an appearance,
not shrinking back,
saying it with conviction,
and living wildly. 💐📖

For the woman choosing her own soil now.
